INDIAN LAKE PENINSULA
The 2009 Land Use and Transportation Plan contains a section on Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning. Changes have occurred and this page offers recommends relative to this plan.
Proposed Signed Bike Route
The 2009 Plan properly identified this group. "Shared Use" signs have been installed. They included some to the best bicycle roads in Hendersonville.
Proposed Wide Outside Lanes
The 2009 Plan properly identifies Indian Lake Road in this group. It has very heavy motor traffic and bicyclists should avoid it. We are unaware of any plans to widen this road and expect that not to happen. Bicyclists have much better alternatives on the road identified for "Shared Use." It is unrealistic to include Indian Lake on any Bike/Ped plan.
